It isn’t “just” a medical condition & why?
Long time no writing! One of the many reasons a medical condition can “get in the way” of ones life, is surprising you at any given moment. Isn’t it just a perk, when one day you’re “fine” and the next morning you feel as if you’ve been hit by a bus, I wish I was joking! But these chronic conditions have you be feeling like that, and there’s no cure, which is fantastic. (NOT). It isn’t as simple as taking some medication, resting a little, and things will magically disappear in the click of a button. I think we all hope that it’s that easy, this is so far from the truth!
Okay, so when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease a few years ago. All I wanted was answers, a diagnosis, to be told that it wasn’t all in my head and of course not be in as much pain as I was in. Then to be put on the “right” medication, more than once, ( if you get what I mean? ), it can definitely feel exhausting, hopeless and like you’re going around in circles. So in the beginning, the medication that I was on, did actually really help and make a world of a difference. However, Can we talk about side effects? That’s a whole story in itself, I could write a book on my experience so far!
What some people may not know, is that having a chronic illness, along with the side effects of the medication they’re taking, can really impact their lives, (and it’s difficult!).
